- For the first time, researchers have calculated how much carbon eelgrass, kelp forests and the like have taken up and stored along the coastal zone in Norway: Around 137 million tonnes of carbon.
- The ocean absorbs more than we emit, and is around 4.5 per cent of Norway's total CO2 emissions, and it is stored permanently.
